Music business icon Carl Leighton-Pope shares his knowledge with students

In October, Deutsche POP/United POP offers its participants and students in the field of music and management an international guest speaker: Carl Leighton-Pope is one of Europe's best artist agents, a successful theatre producer and a true icon in the music business. In an inspiring keynote, he will share his first-hand knowledge with aspiring creative professionals and invited guests.

During his 55+ year career as a manager, promoter and agent, Carl has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Billy Ocean, Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, Van Morrison, Cesar Milan and many others, who are still among his clients. In the world of theatre, Carl is best known for writing and producing Carnaby Street The Musical and his new play LOVE, which will be released in late 2023.

His keynote will focus on his extensive business experiences and the challenges as well as insights as an entrepreneur in the music world. For the students of our Music Management Bachelor-classes, Leighton-Pope will additionally give a lecture on business building in the music industry on the same morning.

"At Deutsche POP/United POP Academy, we understand the invaluable importance of bringing the pulse of the music industry directly into the classroom. Carl Leighton-Pope, with his deep experience and visionary mindset, is not only a witness to the evolution of the music industry, but also an instrumental shaper of that landscape. For our students, hearing him means gaining first-hand insights into the depths and heights of the music and management business," says Tobias Breitenbach, Executive Manager of Akademie Deutsche POP.

Our keynotes and guest speakers not only offer our participants fresh perspectives, but also open doors to practical experience, networking opportunities and the intricacies of the music and management field.
